About Our Academy
Scottsdale’s premier med spa is excited to offer one-on-one aesthetician training in Scottsdale at our Inside Out Aesthetics Academy!
We offer advanced education opportunities to those who are passionate about entering the aesthetics industry. Come experience our 2-day comprehensive training on cosmetic injections, including Botox and/or filler. We will offer you opportunities to put your knowledge to use and practice on patients. Upon completion, you will have gained the skills to safely and confidently begin your career as an aesthetics injector.
Why IOA Academy?
IOA Academy was created by Terri Mazaheri to share her expertise, experiences and passion of being an injector for 20+ years. Our training programs and courses are uniquely designed to provide you with not only the injecting and safety fundamentals in an intimate setting, but also give you the tools as you progress in your career, while providing you with access to experts in the aesthetics field.
Course Options
Condensed Training Course
We have a Botox and Filler Training program, which consist of two days total, where you must complete the Botox training course first. Terri believes the only way you learn and get more comfortable is by having the opportunity to have hands-on practice, so after the Botox training course, you have the opportunity to be part of our Botox Clinic. The Botox Clinic (approximately 2-3 dates available per month) is where you can obtain even more hands-on experience at no additional cost to you. The Botox course is $2,899 or $6,500 if registering for both Botox and Filler course at once.
Continuing Education Opportunities
Advanced Filler Course – During this advanced one-day course, students will have the opportunity to learn more advanced treatments using cannulas and specialized treatments for the following areas: temporal, nasolabial folds, chin, and jaw. This course is offered to IOA graduates and non-graduates with approved prior training. The cost of the Advanced Filler course is $2,500.
Shadowing Opportunities
One-on-one shadowing and mentorship days (6 hours) available upon request, where the injector will be observing only during their shadowing. The cost to shadow is $1,000.
In this training, you can expect:
- Anatomy and physiology lab
- Dilution and injection techniques from Terri, additional Master Nurse Injectors, and a board-certified plastic surgeon
- Business planning and preparation
- Hands-on training and injecting multiple models
- Knowledge review
*Requirements: Must hold RN or advanced medical degree
Our Instructors
Medhi Mazaheri | MD, PC
Dr. Mazaheri is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and a member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is a thorough and experienced surgeon with a strong focus on achieving patient needs.
He regularly gives back to the community by working with Phoenix Children’s Hospital and other local Trauma units.
Dr. Mazaheri’s areas of specialty include breast and body contouring procedures such as breast augmentation, mastopexy, tummy tucks, liposuction and other body sculpting procedures. He and his friendly staff will only recommend procedures that will help you achieve your desired results. Focusing on your needs both before and after a procedure is Dr. Mazaheri’s top priority. Confidence is contagious.
Terri Mazaheri
Terri’s approach to skin is simple, take what God gave you and add some sparkle so you can shine from the inside out! Terri is an amazing mom, sister, friend, and nurse. She has over 20 years of experience as a nurse specializing in plastic surgery. In 2016, Terri opened up her own practice in order to share her expertise in aesthetics and wellness in her own unique way. Terri’s mission is not only to help you look your best-she wants you to feel valued and supported by her entire team of amazing women.
Once you meet Terri, you’ll understand why thousands of clients trust her with their skin year after year. While Terri’s talent and knowledge are exceptional, it is her integrity, generous spirit, and heart of gold that make each client feel special and beautiful.
Abbey Sheesley
Abbey is a certified family nurse practitioner. Her nursing career started in 2015 as a pediatric nurse at Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH). There, she specialized in acute care on the neurology, trauma, and transplant floor. During this time, she also pursued a role in teaching as a clinical instructor for nursing students. In 2017, Abbey was able to achieve a long-term dream, combining medicine with aesthetics, opening up her own medical spa in parallel to her full-time job with PCH. Abbey has always believed that the results of aesthetics and injectables should leave the client feeling natural, confident, and, above all else, safe. This approach to aesthetics allowed Abbey to cross paths with Terri, and in 2018 Abbey would join the IOA team and the rest is history. Abbey continues to pursue her passion for teaching today, playing a pivotal role in the IOA academy courses. Abbey values the relationships she is able to create with every patient while making their wellness and aesthetics dreams a reality.
