Over time, the top layer of skin becomes dull and doesn’t absorb moisture as well as it once did. This can also contribute to fine lines and wrinkles. In dermaplaning, we use a single-use scalpel to gently exfoliate the skin and reveal its natural glow. Dermaplaning also removes “peach fuzz” hair, which leaves the skin smoother. The treatment can also help increase absorption of skincare products.

We always start with a consultation for any new patient before starting a treatment plan. During your consultation we will review your medical history, listen to your goals, and address any questions you have before determining your individual treatment plan.

If you have acne, wait until your breakouts calm down before getting this treatment.
Let us know if you use Accutane (Isotretinon). You should also avoid using prescription retinol the week before your treatment, as your skin will be more sensitive.

What should I not do after my dermaplaning treatment?
You should avoid direct sun exposure and extreme heat for 3 days.
Don't use scrubs or other exfoliators and avoid chlorine for a week after treatment.
Apply serums, moisturizers, and use sunscreen as directed.
What happens when hair grows back after dermaplaning?
Hair does eventually grow back, just like the new cells revealed by the treatment eventually become dead skin cells. For most patients, we recommend dermaplaning monthly.
Can I wear makeup right after my dermaplaning?
You can apply makeup immediately after a dermaplaning facial. Because dermaplaning removes the fine hairs and dead skin, makeup applies well.
